Thank you for your invitation to the Pagdiriwang 2014 Philippine Festival at the Seattle Center House. Although I am unable to attend this event, I want you to know that I am with you in spirit.

 

This celebration reminds us of how fortunate we are to have a large and vibrant Filipino-American community here in the Pacific Northwest. It also serves as a wonderful opportunity to share the rich cultural traditions of the Philippines with the greater Seattle community. Through events like this one, our community continues to lead by example, demonstrating a vast understanding and appreciation of other cultures. Since the declaration of Philippine independence 116 years ago, the strong ties and friendship between our two countries has continued to mature.

 

Finally I would like to commend the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington, its members and board of  directors, for their hard work and dedication to promote celebration and events of Filipino Heritage.
