35th Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival
DAY 1 | June 5 @ 1:00PM - 5:30PM


Kick off this year's Pagdiriwang with Festival Director Juan Pablo A. Paredes, Mayor Jenny Durkan, and Seattle Center Director Robert Nellams. Afterwards, enjoy the soothing violin music of John Lesaca, the croonings of Timmy Pavino, and dances from Southern Philippines with Filipinas Performing Arts of Washington State. Afterwards, John Paredes talks about Philippine artifacts and fabrics, and Silvain Alarilla of Snor's Kitchen does a cooking demo celebrating the richness of Filipino Cuisine. Pinoy Words Expressed Kultura Arts (PWEKA) gives a literary reading, and Leia Maminta Smith takes us on a Photo Travelogue. We learn more about the International Drop-In Center, and Titania Buchholdt introduces us to the Kulintang Music of Ancient Dulawan.

Buklod Sining Virtual Art Exhibit Launch

The Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington in partnership with Seattle Center Festal presents the Buklod Sining Virtual Art Exhibit comprising of over 40 recent works by artists from Manila, Philippines. Participating artists are: Grandier Bella, Tessa Punzalan Brodeth, Roland Castro, Jerico De Leon, Lourdes Inosanto, Celeste Lecaroz, Nik Masangcay, Alvin Montano, Emmanuel Nim, Glenn Perez, Ding Royales, Alex Sibug, Iris Babao Uy, and Michael Velasco. We culminate this year's Pagdiriwang with musical performances by various artists, a lecture on Philippine script by Kristian Kabuay, a video by the Filipino Community of Seattle, a sneak preview of the Diwa Filipino Film Showcase (register at, folkloric dances by the Filipino Community of Seattle Kalahi Dance Company and SAYAW of FASA at UW, Filipino Table Art by Violet Noriega, a lecture on Philippine tattoos by Lane Wilcken, and a musical performance by Herome Bolisay.
