She recently won the Fil-Am League of Pierce County Excellence for Service Award and also currently serves our community as a City of Tacoma Commissioner for Immigrant & Refugee Affairs. Commissioner Castro also won a Global Beauty Award for her philanthropy to address the abandoned child crisis of over 2,000,000 abandoned children living on the streets of the Philippines through sponsoring an abandoned child through the Chosen Childrens Village Foundation.
