Greetings and welcome to the 39th annual Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival at the Seattle Center, May 31-June 1, 2025.
This year’s theme is “Discover Philippines” as indeed many of us have hardly scratched the surface in discovering what the 7,645 islands have to offer. As a cultural heritage showcase, Pagdiriwang seeks to offer as many new and interesting exhibits, events, workshops, performances. This year highlights the participation of groups from Spokane and Alaska, as well as popular draws such as the tattoo workshop/demo of Lane Wilcken, a mambabatok practitioner, and Kristian Kabuay, an expert on Baybayin the ancient writing form. We also have the solo art exhibit by Noel Bote, the photography exhibit of Leia Maminta Smith, the artifacts exhibit of Buron Holt, the DIWA Filipino film festival of Adrian Alarilla, and the Words Expressed literary and poetry readings of Kultura Arts. We have dance performances by SAYAW, FCS Kalahi Cultural Dance Ensemble, IDIC Young Once, FPAWS, and others, not to mention songs, fashion shows, and bands. We have information and commercial booths as well as several hot food vendors.
Bring the whole family. Pagdiriwang is Seattle’s celebration of the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day. All events are free!
