Rea Maac

Rea M. Maac is originally from Marinduque, Philippines and has been working in Singapore since 2010 before moving to Seattle, Washington in 2024. Her poem "Alikabok" was shortlisted for the Migrant Workers Poetry Competition Singapore 2016 and was included in the anthology "Songs from a Distance". She was one of the featured poets in Singapore Writers Festival 2017 and 2018. She's also one of the artists that performed "Zebra Crossing" a poetry band of Migrant Writers of Singapore that was held at Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay, Singapore.

She contributed in the books Our Homes, Our Stories: Voices of Migrant Domestic Workers in Singapore, Call and Response: A Migrant/Local Poetry Anthology and Get Luckier: An Anthology of Philippine and Singapore Writing II. Her poems also appeared in the e-book Translating Migration and The Tiger Moth Review Eco Journal. Her first collection of poems "More Than Just A Shadow" was published in 2021 by Poetry Planet Publishing House while her second collection of poems was published in 2022 by Ukiyoto Publishing.
