Albert Quino has been collecting and studying Filipino edged weapons for over 30 years, a passion rooted in his childhood. His primary focus is the diverse sword traditions of the Mindanao Island group, a field rich enough to study for a lifetime.

The antique weapons in this display hails from Mindanao and the Sulu islands, showcasing iconic swords such as the Kris, Barung, Panabas and Kampilan, alongside more obscure blades like the Gasah and Bangkung.

Highlights:

- a 19th Century Sulu Kris engraved with talismanic symbols and Koranic verses.

- a Barung with Junggayan (large & flamboyant) hilt, blade engraved with Chinese characters.

- a Kampilan with several Tiger bells

- an uncommon Gasah complete with scabbard.
