Gianni O is a multi-instrumentalist and activist based in Tacoma, WA. His self-taught and curiosity-driven approach to music has led him to play on stages of all kinds, from backyard acoustic concerts to opening sets at Madison Square Garden.

His passion for community, culture and activism led him to join Malaya Movement, a grassroots organization of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans fighting for human rights, democracy and sovereignty for the Philippines. Through his activism work, he has developed a deep love of Filipino music from the kundiman, harana and rondalla of the past to the revolutionary protest music of the current age.

Kundiman Through The Years will present a glimpse of traditional Filipino music, using acoustic guitar and voice to express not only personal love and longing but a love for one’s people, and a longing to be free from the corrupt and exploitative forces that bind a nation.
