Grayseas Pies

By: Gracie Santos

Grayseas Pies is a handmade pie pop up business that was born out of quarantine. Gracie Santos makes each pie with love; each pie meant to connect her to you and you to each other. Gracie is from Maryland, but went to school in California and lived in New York before moving to Seattle. She started baking during lockdown in 2020 at first for family and friends. After trading pies with other small business owners, word got out and the response was so favorable that it just made sense to turn it into a business.

Inspired by other small business owners, Gracie enjoys collaborating with other bakers, makers, and creators to highlight their passions and stories as well. It is very important for Gracie to incorporate her Filipina-American heritage in her business as she includes filipinx flavors in her pie-making. Not only that, but she likes to build community by planning events with her business partner, Jennifer Johnson, with The Palengke National. Gracie continues to work with community organizations to plan and execute events like The Palengke to feature other pop up businesses that could benefit from increased visibility and accessibility.

She deeply believes that we are stronger together. Grayseas Pies also aims to raise donations for social justice organizations at least once a month and continues to grow in this business model while supporting others in her community.
