Hood Famous Bakeshop

Chera Amlag’s innovative desserts introducing Filipino flavors to familiar American classics quickly gained popularity at the Filipino pop up dinner series “Food & Sh*t.” When her ube (purple yam) cheesecake debuted in October 2013, the creamy purple cake quickly became the most demanded, memorable, and most Insta-grammed item on the menu—appropriately taking on the name “Chera’s Hood Famous Ube Cheesecake”. Deciding to take a chance on a dream, Chera left her much-loved job in education in 2014 to build Hood Famous Bakeshop.

Hood Famous Bakeshop has grown into a small bakery with a big heart (and appetite!) for unique Filipino sweets. You can now find our cheesecakes in various retailers and restaurants, hire us for catering events, and visit us at our bakeshop counter in Ballard.
